FAQs

Do I need to supply my pet's food?

No, but you are more than welcome to if you prefer. If you choose not to then we have a range of standard dry and wet food to feed your pet included in our price, or if you would like something more specific you can pre-order from our fully stocked pet shop so your food is here ahead or arrival. When you arrive for your pet's stay, you will be asked to fill out a short form which details your pet's diet, which we will follow to your exact requirements. We are able to store raw food for dogs and cats, so if your pet is raw fed this is no issue.

What else do I need to bring along with my pet?

The only thing that we absolutely need is their vaccination card so that we can verify they are up to date with all relevant vaccinations. These are the annual boosters for dog, cats and rabbits, plus the kennel cough vaccination for dogs. The kennel cough vaccination must be administered at least two weeks prior to your dog's arrival. Please be aware that we absolutely cannot admit any pet that hasn't submitted a vaccination card clearly stating that they are fully vaccinated against these illnesses.

Other than that, it is up to you. You are welcome to bring your pet's food (please see above for more information) but it is not compulsory. You are also welcome to bring your pet's bedding, toys and other accessories, but please be aware that we cannot guarantee their safe return as we have a lot of pets with identical products! It is appreciated if you could bring your pet's belongings in in a clearly named bag to help us ensure their safe return.

I have never left my dog before, will they be scared?

This is the most common query we have, and something we completely understand as dog owners ourselves. The short answer is no, we have hosted thousands of dogs over the years and all of them have adapted well to their little holiday. Something that we take very seriously is the emotional aspect of your dog's stay; making sure they have enough attention and affection is just as important as all of the basics as far as we are concerned. We will work with your dog's personality to put them at ease, however most owners are surprised to find that their dog is actually having a wonderful time exploring their new surroundings and playing with our staff! If you would like to come for a viewing, we recommend that you bring your dog with you so we can help to create a positive experience for them.

When and how do I pay?

All balances need to be settled when you bring your pet in to board. We do not have a card machine in the boarding reception, so you are unfortunately only able to pay by cash, bank transfer or payment link. Please note that in the event that you decide to collect your pet early, we are unable to refund any outstanding days.

You are able to purchase products from our shop and pay by card, contactless or Apple pay in addition to cash, however we cannot accept boarding payments in the shop.

Will my dog mix with any other dogs during their stay?

This is up to you; you will be asked on your arrival form whether you consent to your dog socialising with other dogs during their stay. If you choose not to, then your dog will be exercised and played with on a private yard. Every dog is different, so we will do whatever works for your dog. Regardless of your decision, your dog will still get a minimum of four play and exercise sessions per day! If you choose to let your dog socialise, we will match them with dogs of a similar temperament and breed and they will be supervised at all times.

Will my cat mix with any other cats during their stay?

No, your cat will only socialise with other cats from your family. Cats are not pack animals like dogs, therefore they don't necessarily get on with cats from other households! Our cat units have glass windows where cats can watch our mini world go by, and they get plenty of interaction with our staff if they are partial to a cuddle! We also have a one of a kind indoor cat garden which they can explore independently.

My cat is unfriendly, will you still accept them?

Of course (although we draw the line at wild Bengal tigers!). Our cat units are designed so that if your cat wants to be left completely alone, our staff can enter the unit without disturbing your cat in their private bedroom while they clean their litter tray and feed them.

Are your premises secure?

Yes, our premises are completely secure and are monitored by CCTV 24/7. We also have a security team that watch the site around the clock and can immediately alert us, the police or the emergency vet if there was any risk. Multiple members of staff stay at the premises at all times of the day and night. For more information on our security, please click here. For your added peace of mind, we also offer Tractive GPS Dog Tracking devices for you to hire for the duration of your dog's stay. This allows you to track their location wherever you are in the world, as well as giving you a report of how much exercise your dog had during their stay. You can add this to your online booking or speak to a member of our staff.

What happens if my pet falls ill while I am away?

All of our staff are fully trained and certified in canine first aid, meaning we can quickly address many emergency situations as quickly as possible. If your pet requires veterinary attention, we will take them to our chosen veterinary surgery (The Grange in Mold). Please note, your dog will never be left unsupervised with any treat or toy which could pose a choking hazard.

My pet is on medication, can they still board with you?

Of course! We are familiar with most common ailments and are used to all manner of medication, from creams and eye drops to tablets and injections. You will be asked for a description of your pet's condition and their daily dosage when you arrive. All dogs that board with us must have an up to date vaccination certificate, including all annual boosters as well as the Kennel Cough vaccination.

I am going to miss my pet a lot. Can I contact them during their stay?

We understand how hard it can be to leave your pet while you are away, therefore we send regular 'pupdates' with photos and videos to show you what your pet is up to and how much fun they are having! We are also only a phone call or email away, so feel free to drop us a message during our opening ours and we will let you know all about what your pooch has been up to during their holiday!

I don't want to leave my pet alone all day but  I am home in the evenings, do you offer a daycare service?

Sure we do, check out our Woof Club!
